Wheaten puppies are typically born dark brown with black faces and change to the wheaten color as an adult. The rare puppy born blonde is a result of a recessive gene. Photos below show typical Pinehome Wheaten puppies around eight to twelve weeks old. This is how they look when ready to leave Pinehome Kennels.
