Pinehome Kennels
Over thirty years ago, my husband and I wanted to add a dog to our family. I wanted a Golden Retriever and he wanted a Yorkshire Terrier. After a couple years of searching, we found a breed that had the gentleness of the Golden and that terrier attitude! We discovered the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier and haven't looked back.
Our first Wheaten, Ch. Mariner's Unsinkable "Molly" CD got us hooked. In 1987, we put her in the local dog show and she got a Blue Ribbon! Went on to her Canadian Championship and her Companion Dog Obedience title.
Our country squires and lassies are raised in our log home amongst the pine trees, hence Pinehome Kennels.
Since our first 'Molly', we have shown many dogs to their Championships both in Canada and the United States. We continue to liven up the local obedience classes and have a limited breeding program. I am an active member of national and local kennel clubs and follow the breeder ethics and guidelines for those clubs.
We also have two great daughters who were raised with Wheatens and still help mom and dad out a lot. Balancing family, household and dogs is a real challenge! That enthusiastic, unconditional Wheaten greeting makes it all worthwhile.
